Even though Bollywood has improved over time, many of its filmmaking problems persist. Even in the twenty-first century, Bollywood has created innumerable movies that mainstream serious problems or warning signs. The fact that movies have such a big influence on how many people think about things makes this a serious issue.

Kabir Singh

Kabir Singh is a tale of passion and romance that aims to promote interreligious or inter-caste love. The novel continued to romanticize undesirable behaviours that should not be acceptable in society, nevertheless, to deliver such a wonderful message. The movie has a lot of warning signs, such as claiming a woman without knowing her name, controlling the love interest's actions, demanding sex at knifepoint, and abusing a woman. It is extremely troubling that this film portrayed abuse as love.

Raanjhanaa

In addition to being one of the most well-liked Bollywood films ever, Raanjhanaa has a lot of issues. The influence that families and religions have over women's bodies and lives, as well as the stalking and harassment of women, are glorified in this movie, which is problematic in every way. The movie encourages the kind of "roadside Romeo" characters that chase the love interest and pass it off as genuine affection, irritating her. Moreover, the film supports the abuse of women. In a physical act of violence against women, the actor simply drops the girl he appears to "love" into a river when he learns that she is involved with someone else.

 Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Ayan, a man-child who can't accept rejection, is the subject of this tale. Since he is the movie's central figure, we should feel sorry for him. As long as it doesn't try to make someone feel guilty for not feeling the same way about them or try to manipulate someone by causing jealousy, I'm not against one-sided love. In the movie, Ayan does this by poisoning it. The underlying problem arises as a result of the movie's normalization of not understanding consent by portraying it as a form of love.

 Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Although there are many different ways to view romance, it can never be toxic or childish. Despite a few incredibly sweet moments in the movie, there are also times when we start to doubt the notion of romance. Indecisive about his emotions, Bunny chose to pick a quarrel with Naina's friend to "hang out" with her. Instead of figuring out his feelings for himself, he chose to do so. Bunny, go ahead and ask her.

 Love Aaj Kal (2020)

Imtiaz Ali strives to create meaningful female characters and narratives with strong female leads. However, there were certain love scenes in this 2020 awkward movie. Veer was the neighborhood guy, and we don't disagree with the fact that the writer did a good job creating the persona. However, daily lingering outside the cafe for Zoe is less romantic and more stalkerish.

 Toilet Ek Prem Katha

The movie has a social message, but in highlighting it, it missed addressing the numerous false messages it also sent. The entire situation—following the female you adore, stalking her, and capturing her pictures—shouldn't be connected to romance, not even in a song with fluttering dupattas and vibrant colours. At least not any longer.

 Badrinath Ki Dulhania

No means no; it is as easy to understand as it sounds. Badrinath Ki Dulhania missed the memo. Varun Dhawan's character in the movie, Badri, is often seen pressuring Vaidehi into getting married to him. And if that weren't sweet enough, he tells her he will keep trying as he boards a moving bus for his next romantic gesture.
