Most people watch movies to escape the real world or unwind after a long day at work. But some of the best movies can inspire you to be a better market here, provided that's your job. Watching movies is refreshing and unconventional to reflect on your career and learn something new about yourself.

Since the retention span of people is low today, and there Is so much visual content out there, learning marketing while watching movies is a win-win situation for everyone.

Some of the best movies for modern marketers

  1. The Social Network
The movie tells the gripping origin story of a website that moved into the tectonic plates of the digital marketing world that is Facebook—being a market where it's interesting to get an inside look at what inspired people all the founders throughout the process when they built it and the steps, they took to develop the platform. Facebook also experienced several ups and downs as it became a social media giant. The humble yet promising beginning lead to its rapid growth.
  2.  Moneyball
The Oaklands a's won the most games in baseball back in 2002 by 20 game winning streak that broke an American League record. They also had the 3rd lowest payroll in the Major League. They made data-driven decisions. Moneyball recounts the beginnings of the analytical approach to winning baseball that is the status quo today. By signing cheap and some undervalued players based on the matrices that signal success A got the maximum bank for each dollar. Baseball and marketing have a lot in common in this sense. Before data dropped, any decision-making intuition did. That's when a few brave trailblazers nominated information about its replacement, and a tidal wave of backlash came crashing down on them.
  3.  Up in the air
Currently, it feels like everybody strives for a balanced life, but up-in-the-air character George Clooney works for an HR consultancy firm that helps the companies conduct layoffs. The actor must fly daily to fire his client's employees, showing that he doesn't have a permanent address or a family. Ryan believes relationships with people and things are not worth it as they are too taxing, and he gives motivational speeches to get people to follow the life mantra. When the character starts a causal relationship with another frequent flyer, the mentor's hire constantly challenges his values and experiences. Up in the air indeed reminds people that hard work and dedication can take them to a great height. But your most memorable moment in life will always revolve around your loved ones instead of your career.
  4. Thank you for smoking
A slick tobacco lobbyist Nick Naylor has a talent for persuasion. Throughout the movie, you watch in disbelief as they defend the tobacco industry in classrooms, on TV shows, and even at some hearings. The movie illustrates that knowing how to spin a product correctly can convince anyone that it is great for you, even if it can kill you, and that's the encouraging yet most dangerous part of marketing. People want to trust other people and be swayed, and that's what the human condition is all about.

    Conclusion
  5. Marketing is of course one of the most interesting industries, rather everything revolves around marketing. Be it a product or a service company, each of them do require the assistance of marketing in every possible way. Can there be a better combination of movies and marketing together? No right! We can always mix the two together, and there is no better way to learn than  via the visuals.
