The Indian Army stands a place in the top 5 most powerful armies in the world. The Indian Army is equipped with many kinds of weapons. Among all the types of weapons, the strength of the army is determined by the guns present in it. This is to tell you about the guns of the army which are considered to be the most dangerous.


 Insas rifle

 INSAS is a rifle used by the army and other armed forces. This deadly rifle is built on the lines of the AK-47. INSAS stands for Indian Small Arms System and it is prepared in India only. This rifle was first produced in 1994. The first look was found in the Republic Day Parade in 1998 and it was used extensively in the 1999 Kargil War. It was removed from service in the year 2019, but even today it is seen as a standard infantry weapon. 

AK-203 

This is the most advanced rifle of the AK series now. The AK-47 is the most basic one. After this, the AK- 74, 56, 100, and 200 series has come. After it is fully loaded, the AK-203 rifle will weigh around 4 kg. The AK-203 rifle comes in both automatic and semi-automatic variants. The Hitech AK-203 rifle can fire 600 bullets per minute. This rifle can also target the enemy located at a long distance of 400 meters. India and Russia are making this rifle jointly and it will be manufactured in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

 Destroyer, Anti Material Rifle (ARM)

The Destroyer Anti Material (ARM) is known to be an indigenous gun. It is prepared in the Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli. It covers a range of 1800 meters. This rifle is 25 KG in weight and its length is 1.7 meters. It is prepared on the lines of the US Army’s ARM Rifle. It is being prepared in the year 2005.

 Dragunov SVD 59 sniper rifle (DSR) 

This sniper rifle was used during the Cold War at first. 7.62 × 54 MM bullets are used in this rifle. It takes a 10-round magazine. It targets enemies from the range of 800–900 meters. It was deployed for military mobilization. This rifle was designed by Yvegne Dragunov, who designed weapons for the Soviet Union in the 1950s. 

Mauzer SP 66 sniper rifle 

The Mauzer SP 66 sniper rifle is a gun prepared in Germany. It is a bolt-action sniper rifle. This SP 66 model is like the gun used by ordinary citizens. It looks like a hunting rifle. It can target up to 800 meters. It is used by the Indian Army and Special Armed Forces. 

SAF Carbine Sub Machine Gun

 It is known as a silent gun. During the firing of this gun, its sound is reduced. Its barrel has a silencer. This gun is prepared at the Ordnance Factory in Kanpur. It is very lightweight and automatic firing is at the top of its features. This rifle can fire 150 rounds per minute. This rifle is mostly used in countering terrorist attacks. 

NSV Heavy Machine Gun

This rifle is also prepared in Russia. In India, this rifle is prepared at the Ordnance Factory Board factory in Tiruchirappalli. This rifle is used as an anti-aircraft gun for dropping helicopters and fighter jets. It uses a 12.7 × 108 mm bullet. It targets its enemies closely. This rifle is also capable to target aircraft flying 1500 meters above the ground. This rifle can fire at 700–800 rounds per minute.
